Unity is Strength
Anti-Fascist Trade Union Network (West of Scotland) was founded in 2026 and was previously known as Glasgow HOPE not Hate which was active in fighting racism, fascism and sectarianism in the City from its inception in 2012. The Glasgow Hnh committee remain the same but we are now carrying on our long association with trade unions and specifically focussing our work within the trade union and labour movement.
We will challenge racism, fascism and religious sectarianism working alongside trade union's, Trade Union Council's and other progressive anti-racist organisations through various levels of activity such as providing information on current issues, information on the far-right and far-right political parties such as Reform UK and Restore, speaker requests, leafleting, public meetings, anti-fascist film showings and information stalls. We will also continue to organise the annual Glasgow Commemoration to the International Brigade in association with the International Brigade Memorial Trust.
At a time of increased far-right activity we also realise the need for a anti-racism/anti-fascist voice to be heard within our communities. Trade Union Council's can provide this link between trade unions and the community.
We have no political affiliation to any one party and will work with anyone willing to challenge racism, fascism and religious sectarianism. We are all volunteers and are all trade union members. Our committee is democratically elected every two years.
Together, the trade union movement and communities can unite in challenging racism, fascism and discrimination whilst sending out a clear message that such attitudes and actions are unacceptable and intolerable in today's society.
We look forward to working with your trade union region, branch or Trade Union Council.
